Exciting things happening this month, friends! First off, the 1:1 scale Ian McKellen silicone bust project is ready for molding and should be ready by the end of the month if all goes well. (see pics below) This has been a project long in the making and time was finally on my side to make it happen!
Also, later this month Experimental Puppet Theater will be showing "The Little Old Man and the Wind-Up Boy". I had the priveledge of designing, sculpting, and painting the head and hands of the Wind-Up Boy for this film and I am blessed to have been a part of it! Director Beau Brown and crew have done a great job bringing this to fruition and it will be debuting May 20th at The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia. After that, look for the extended cut of the short film and it's film festival screenings across the country.
As always, thank you all so much for your support and for stopping by the studio! More great news is on the way, so visit again soon or feel free to check out our fan page on Facebook at Scott Fensterer Sculpture Studio!

Well, it has been a busy few months since the last update! As you can see, the silicone Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Gray has been finished, and none too soon! Although it was a fun project, the trials and tribulations of working with such long hair has its challenges! Check out the Gallery page for some shots!
I've also had some opportunities to help out friend Toby Sells (of The Walking Dead make-up fame) and it is always a joy! Even got to dive in to some makeup application and removal for a book shoot! More on that soon!
Labor day weekend at Dragon*Con, I had the pleasure of meeting an idol of mine who happens to be my mentor in the Dick Smith Professional Make-up Course, Andrew Clement of Creative Character Engineering! It was such an honor to get his critique of my work in the course so far...In some ways, getting back into special effects makeup is like riding a bike for me. Just so much more to play with in the industry now! Keep watching for more photos coming soon!
Ive also launched a blog over at http:/CauseAndFX.Wordpress.com. Much more stuff over there from inspirations, to projects, to peeves and beyond! Worth a look-see!
Thanks for visiting the studio, and remember to look for Scott Fensterer Sculpture Studio on Facebook and like us to keep up with all our progress!
